Matthew loves having Charlotte "climb" him. They've been playing this little game since we took her home from the hospital, but I just recently caught the twosome on video. The video is sideways (apparently video is not flipped on our camera like pictures are. Oops.), but don't let it stop you! Turn your head and enjoy the cuteness that is a daddy with his daughter!
Matthew also likes to "rough house" with Charlotte. Apparently, daddies are for rough housing and mommies are for cuddling. This daddy cannot wait to do some real rough housing with his daughter, but stuff like this will do for the time being.

Our little girl is growing up.
I know I've said this a million times, but I cannot believe how quickly this little girl is growing up. She'll be two months old tomorrow. Can you believe that? And in order to show us just how big of a girl she is, Charlotte slept through the night two nights in a row. Unbelievable. I still woke up around 3 both nights, waiting for her to wake up, but she never did.
She's a baby now, not an infant. I'm so happy for the longer nights of sleep, but it makes me a little sad to think at how quickly these little milestones are coming. Before I know it, she'll be off to school! Is there anyway I can just hold her and make time stand still, just a little?

Another Question
Can this really be a comfortable sleeping position? This seems to be her preferred head angle. It looks so uncomfortable, but when I'm holding her and she wants to sleep, she will wiggle and wiggle until she has her head at the strange angle you see below. It's even become a joke with one of the daycare providers. Whenever I come in with Charlotte and she has her head thrown back like this, the teacher says, "Looks like someone is content!"

I guess she's made of rubber or something. Weirdo.

Catching up on Weekend Fun
Freeman life has been busy, so we have two weekend outings to share with everybody.
For Labor Day weekend, we went to Warsaw, MO to spend the weekend at Aunt Shirley and Uncle Dan's cabin. Charlotte spent almost an entire day out on the porch, mostly snoozing, but also enjoying the weather and all the nature noises. She loved it!
Sunday we all went out on the boat. Charlotte slept almost the entire time on the boat, waking up only once to remind us how uncomfortable her life jacket was.
The life saving duckies.
Cousin Derek in his life jacket and the coolest hat around.
Freeman Family Boating
The next weekend brought more nice weather, so the three of us went on our first family picnic. Charlotte didn't eat, but she enjoyed a nice little nap in her own special tent.

Ok, so there are no pictures (though I wish there were), but Charlotte's latest escapade was so freaking funny (although a little sad, too), we just have to share.
So you know how if you laugh too hard while drinking, milk can come out your nose? Apparently, if you are trying really, really hard to fill your diaper immediately after finishing a bottle, formula can come out your mouth and nose. That's right. Charlotte had formula coming out of just about every hole in her body. I guess technically it wasn't funny, but we were both laughing so hard.
To give you an idea of how hard it is to fill a diaper, we bring you the video we will show at her sweet 16.

Just a little update...
Since it's been a little while since we've posted, I figured it was time for a short Freeman family update. More detailed posts will follow, but this will suffice for now.
I suppose the biggest news is that Charlotte has started her daycare adventure. That's right. I am back at work. I cannot believe how quickly those 6 weeks passed. My little girl is growing so fast. Today she is 7 weeks old! Time seems to have accelerated since I became a parent. I was warned, but nothing could have prepared me for how much she grows each time I blink. It was sad to hand her over to Kindercare last Tuesday, but I know she'll be well taken care of and happy. How can we go wrong with a daycare that has an infant "curriculum"? (Any thoughts on what kind of curriculum one can have for an infant?) I cried like a little girl when I dropped her off, but she slept the whole time. I'm okay with it now; it's good for both of us to associate with our peers.
Charlotte has her first cold (thank you, Daddy, and your disease carrying students), but she's doing much better. Is it bad that I think her stuffy nose noises are cute? Other than that, she's a happy, healthy little girl. She only wakes up once during the night now, so mommy and daddy are becoming happy, healthy parents!
Lastly, a note from the chunker department. I weighed her this evening and the munchkin weighed in at a whopping 12 pounds. She's gained a pound in just over 2 weeks. Unbelievable.
That's it from the Freeman clan. More updates to come, but I will leave two super cute pictures of my bean to tide you over...
