Apple Picking!

The weekend after Labor Day Matt's mom came to visit us.  We had a great time having her.  Friday night, we left her at home with a book while we braved the rain at the Fox football game.  Saturday morning we packed up in her jeep and headed out to Eckert's for apple picking.  It was the last weekend before the Fun Farm opened, so we were able to get in without paying.  That made the apples taste just that much sweeter.  :)
Ready to go!

Cozy in the backseat with Gramma

Who is that big girl next to Charlotte?  That can't possibly be my baby!

Tractor riding

Go that way, Daddy!

Such a happy girl

Playing on the playground before walking over to the orchards

Playing in the rocks

Taste testing

Carrying her bag

"Just my size"

Who needs a ladder?

Taking a break with Gramma

Big bite for a little girl

I love this picture.  Audrey's watching Charlotte and a puppy down the way, but isn't quite sure how to navigate the apples on the ground that were in her way.  Longing to be a big kid.  Slow down, baby girl.  Slow down!

Taking the wagon back.

Playing with one of the farm dogs

Checking out the view.  "The arch!"

And this is what some of the apples turned into that evening.  Best apple pie and yes, that it is a homemade braided crust.  I am THAT awesome.  :)

Labor Day 2011

My aunt and uncle invited us to their cabin Labor Day weekend.  Matt went to visit our friend Ryan in Milwaukee while I rode with my parents down to Warsaw, MO.  We usually end up out there at least one weekend a summer.  It's always nice to be there even though we missed Daddy.  Particularly Audrey.

Aunt Shirley bought some water guns for the kids to play with.  They had a great time with the guns, but also just about the same amount of fun with the big bucket of water.

Trying to shoot Mommy

Doesn't she look like she's trap shooting?

Figuring it out- "I do it myself!  Don't help!"

Watering the tree.  They took the job seriously.

Taking a ride on the gator with Aunt Shirley and Uncle Dan

Derek was not going to let Charlotte take that ride alone.

Our art project- glow-in-the-dark paint inside mason jars.  The idea is to splatter the paint so it looks like stars in the jar, but the kiddos wanted to just paint.  I let go (but did mine the right way).

Cute Audrey

And cute Charlotte.  Why can't they be cute in the same picture?

A nice place to nap while waiting to go out on the boat.

Me and my girls at the marina, waiting to get going on the water.

Charlotte on the jet ski with Stephanie

Looks like she's having fun!

Charlotte loved the boat.

Winding down with Derek after dinner.  How cute are they?

Filling the bucket with rocks.  You know, because she had to.

Just a casual lunch between second cousins

Enjoying the beaters after Aunt Shirley was done with the frosting for the cake

This may be one of the cutest pictures in the history of all pictures.  But I might be biased.

On the boat, day 2.

Audrey enjoyed the snacks

Sunday we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the cabin.  My aunt and uncle spent their first weekend in Warsaw on Labor Day weekend 1986.  Time flies!

Anxiously awaiting the chance to blow out candles.

Take two

When we got home, we played outside while we waited for Daddy to arrive.

Yay for undiluted juice!

Such a big girl.
