10 months old!

Audrey turned 10 months old on Friday. Can you believe that? I can't believe how quickly her first year is flying by. Our peach tree is just beautiful right now and I wanted some pictures of the girls before the flowers fell. Sunday was absolutely beautiful so we had a mini photo shoot in the backyard.
Enjoying an afternoon snack of mulch. Yum.

Is this not the sweetest face in the entire world?

I love this face!

Cuter and cuter with every month.

Whoa!

Sweet sisters.

Are these faces not classic?

Sorry for the number of pictures. They were just so cute I had trouble narrowing them down!

Making a Change

We've decided to make our blog public. At least for a trial period. We've had a couple of requests to make the blog easier to get to and to have it show up in readers and feeds, so this is us trying to accommodate our readers. But if students and clients start reading our blog, it's back to private for us!

Making a Cake with Mommy

I made dessert for an Adult Easter Egg Hunt at our friends Dave and Peggy's house (a Neapolitan Cake that was FABULOUS, by the way) and had an extra half a layer and some icing left over. So I let Charlotte take the decorating reins. She did a fabulous job, in my humble opinion.
Testing the product before committing to an entire cake. Smart girl, but she'll soon learn that all she need to hear were the words "Swiss Meringue Buttercream Frosting". YUM.

She's learning.

Mommy preparing the canvas while Charlotte enjoys an apple. (See? A healthy snack! We do more than cakes and donuts, I promise!)

Piping with a large star tip.

Admiring her handiwork.

Sprinkles!

So proud of the finished product.

Testing the goods.

Isn't it beautiful?

How to make bath time just a little more fun

Turn off the lights and turn on your flash! These pictures CRACK me up. Excellent idea, Matthew. Excellent idea.

This could be fun.

What's up with this flash?

Where am I? How do I get out?

Where are you, Mom?

This is fun, but a little scary. Can we turn the lights back on?

First Donut Trip of Spring!

It seems like our family has a freakish amount of pictures of us headed out for donuts, but I swear we do other things! It's just nice to have a destination when we go for a walk and when there is a tasty donut shop less than a mile from your home, why would you walk anywhere else? These pictures are from the first weekend this month. We went again last weekend, but I didn't bring my camera. I figured we had enough donut pictures. Ultimately we decided to extend our walk to the park, so by not bringing my camera, I missed taking pictures of Audrey's first swing. The take-away? Always bring your camera when you go to get donuts.

And we're off! The Charlotte and Audrey Express makes its first trip to St. Louis Hills Donuts.

I've seen this sight many times since this picture was taken, and I don't think there are many things that make me more happy than this does.

Big bite!

Is she sticking her tongue out at me?

Shhhhh. Don't tell her I was sticking my tongue out at her.

Kid or puppy?

Headed home with a bag full of donut holes.

Chill-axin at home

A collection of pictures that don't really form a cohesive story, so they're just grouped together here. These girls are too cute.

Audrey and her "sucker". My little pacifier baby. Enjoy it now while you can, kid. Your pacifier days are numbered.

Enjoying purple cupcakes from our neighbor, Mrs. Howard, or "Howie", as Charlotte likes to call her.

Joe Cool, bug style.

Post bath combing. Forgive the nakedness. It's a common after-bath occurrence.

After the same bath. Doesn't she have the cutest smile?

Praise the Lord

For awhile it seemed my life was just one poopy situation to the next, defined by moments between dirty diapers. Two kids in diapers is NO FUN. And then the miracle. Cue trumpet fanfare, angels flying and choirs singing. Charlotte asked me for big girl pants last Monday. After two days of hit or miss use of the potty, I am now the mother of a potty-trained little girl. Woohoo! We still put her in a diaper to sleep, but for the most part, this girl is trained. She had a couple of accidents at school on Tuesday, but after that, nothing. No accidents at school. Only a few at home the first few days, now nothing. Praise.The.Lord. Amazing what the promise of Princess underwear can do. Do you think I can potty train Audrey yet?
