Another Saturday, another donut

A few weeks ago we took another walk to our favorite donut shop. It was one of the few Saturdays we didn't have anything to do! It was wonderful. We had a great time.

Charlotte decided she wanted to ride on Audrey's stroller. She looks so cute hanging on.

Checking out the dog in the car next to the donut shop.

Ah, donuts.

Digging out her donut holes. We always ask for four and end up leaving with a bag full of them. The owner is so super nice.

What does Charlotte love more than donuts?

Collecting "moneys"!

Hi, Mom!

We didn't let Audrey have a donut, so she chewed on her pacifier instead.

Cuteness Overload

I just had to post some of the most recent "Charlotte-isms":

There is a stack of coats on the sofa that my aunt brought over for me to go through. I ask Charlotte if she wants to wear one. She taps her forefinger on her lips, "Hmmmmmm. That one."

Charlotte's sitting on my lap. Her tummy grumbles a little. She turns to me. "Mama poopoo?" No, Mama didn't poopoo. "Oh. Mama toot?"

Her big thing right now is to ask "What happened?" It's constant. Any time we say or do something, "What happened? Mama, what happened?" Lately when we've been answering her, she'll just respond, "Oh." Example: I drop a spoon. "Mama, what happened?" "I dropped a spoon." "Oh."

I put Charlotte to bed last night. I read a book and then start to tuck her in. I ask her if she had a good day and she answers, "Yeah. Harvey my man." Matt calls up the stairs, "No he isn't!" Toddler love.

And just a few more stories...

Audrey has two teeth! I can't believe she cut them already. I'm not ready. As a result, I'm pretty sure she has an ear infection. She was fussing at the bottle last night and cried A LOT, which is not normal, so I'm thinking ear infection. With all the ear infections Charlotte had, I'm excited that this is potentially Audrey's first after over five months! I felt like we were in the Dr.'s office every week with Charlotte when she first started daycare. I guess Audrey's tougher. :)

Audrey had her first belly laugh this past Sunday. Charlotte was doing this goofy little dance for Audrey and she just cracked up. It was adorable! Charlotte would move out of her line of sight, the laughing would pause, then Charlotte would come back with her silly dance and Audrey would bust a gut. Hilarious.

And I've saved the best for last. The other night, Audrey was propped up into a sitting position against one of our chairs at Matthew's feet. Charlotte crawled up next to her, put her head in Audrey's lap, and laid there while Audrey played with her hair. It was one of those precious moments that makes your heart feel so full, it just might burst from happiness. Definitely made a mental picture with that one. I just love these girls.

More details to come, but...

My mom and I (and the girls) are in the Christmas Penzey's Catalog! Yay, Mom! A couple of her recipes are in there, along with a story and a picture. There will be more on the website later. For now, here is a link to the PDF of the catalog. Enjoy!

My Sweet Girls

I heart them!

Girly Girl

We have a girly girl. I didn't see it coming. We're not sure where it came from, but I have a hunch the beauty parlor days at daycare may have had something to do with it. :) Charlotte just loves dress-up and playing with Mommy's makeup. Such a cutie.

Playing with Mommy's makeup and painting nails. Such a glamazon. :)

She did my makeup, too. It's hard to tell in the picture, but I was superbly beautimous after she was through with me.

Gramma Visit!

Debbie came to visit last weekend to help us get some things done around the house. She spent a good amount of time playing with her grandchildren while Matt and I got a ton of stuff done downstairs. It was awesome. She's welcome back anytime. :)

The Best Toys Aren't Toys At All

Matt and I have (FINALLY) moved out of the attic bedroom and into our own room in the basement. We still have a long way to go before the basement is finished, but it is done enough for us to be down there. We're working on making the attic a great girls room, but first we have to move our stuff out of there. Our bed was on top of three large boxes Matt made since the box springs wouldn't fit up the stairs (oops). Charlotte had a great time playing with them while they were in the family room. Matt put her inside and she was so sad when we moved them downstairs. Sometimes I wonder why we buy her toys at all.
