We are the luckiest parents

I've said many times that we can take Charlotte anywhere. She is extremely adaptable and does well at restaurants, ballgames, stores, really anywhere in public. It is wonderful. But we put her to the test tonight.

My parents have season tickets to the Muny (an outdoor theatre) and gave us four tickets for tonight's performance of 42nd Street, one of my favorites. We weren't able to find anyone to come with us, so my parents came, and as a result, we lost the last potential babysitters on our list. (What was the deal with this weekend? Everyone had plans!) My mom said we should just take Charlotte with us, so we did. I was a little worried most of the day since the show was so late and would put Charlotte out well past her bedtime. Would she melt down? Make a lot of noise? Force us to run for the exits to prevent other audience members from giving us "the look"?

It is my pleasure to announce that the answer to all of the above question is an absolutely emphatic NO! She was an angel. She watched the dance numbers. She was quiet. She danced for the people behind us (such a ham). She made goofy faces at the people around us. She was a dream. She passed out during "Broadway Lullaby" (fitting, right?) and did so without so much as a whimper. That's my girl! She loved the show and the night turned out pretty darn nice, so it was a lovely family night at the Muny. I'm so glad we can do these things with her.

I know we won't be able to do some of these things when she's a bit older, but it is so nice to have a baby that doesn't have problems in strange places or with strange people. She is the most wonderful baby on the planet. I am so in love with my little broadway baby. :)
